Greetings ~

Back in 1999, I closed my hobby and gift shop in Akron, Ohio. I simply made too much money on eBay and not enough in the store. So I took the entire inventory home and sold it online. I had several model kits left over and through the last few years, mostly in the winter when it's too cold to work outside, I pull a kit out once in awhile to build. These two kits were part of that stash.
They date to the later 1990s and were made by AMT. I really don't know why they were made other than the company was just looking at what to do and someone in the boardroom said, "Oh, what the hell, let's make kits for giant insects and critters. So they did.
These kits at first appear to be little cheapo kits but they actually have many pieces and they take a while to assemble, mostly because of all the painting. The buildings are plastic as is the kit and the backdrop buildings are cardboard.
I am building both kits on this blog The giant scorpion and the giant praying mantis. Let's see how they turn out.
NOTE: This is an on-going blog at this time. I am in the process of constructing both of these kits so I will be adding photos and info as I go. Each section is dated so you can keep up with the progress. Once the models and the blog are finished, I will delete this note.
